"Stratisfaction" is Guaranteed in New Venture

alt Patricia Anne Stratigias, better known as her World Wrestling Entertainment alias Trish Stratus, has done it all in a lengthy career that’s continuing to build momentum in her hometown of Toronto, Ontario. Transforming from a leading fitness model gracing the cover of over 20 international fitness magazines to a seven time WWE Women’s Champion, and now evolving to eco-friendly yoga entrepreneur - Stratus proves you really can have it all.

A dislocated shoulder, a broken hand, being slammed through a table and a career altering herniated disk are some of the injuries received in her seven year WWE career. Stratus credits yoga for helping her get back in shape to enter the ring again, which could be why after leaving the ring in September 17, 2006 she turned her energy and entrepreneurial spirit to her dream of “Stratusphere Yoga,” where she is a proud co-owner.

Stratusphere Yoga is in the heart of Vaughan, Ontario and is a 5200 square foot one stop yoga shop. It is a multidisciplinary studio that offers a wide and growing variety of yoga classes, the first north of the GTA.

Stratus is dedicated to fitness and the environment and that’s why Stratusphere was built on guidelines given by the Green Yoga Association. Eco friendly factors include cork flooring, the heated room which is called “Shape” uses radiant heating panels and the light fixtures are fluorescents as well as low voltage halogens equipped with dimmers so lighting is used where lighting is needed. The paint, from Benjamin Moore, complies with environmental laws and has received the “Pollution Prevention Award”.

A home grown celebrity who has kept her local roots intact wrestled her last match in Toronto, creating a new business. Stratus has even been  nick named “Canada’s Greatest Export” and never hiding her Canadian colours, Stratus proves that dreams do come true. Just in her case, it took being slammed through several tables to help her realize her dream!

Classes range from $18 per class to $1400 annually. Also student and senior rates are available as well as a new students package unlimited classes for one week for $20. All prices include use of mat and towel.
