But What's the Deal with That Accent--British or Just Pretentious?
What the deuce!?
Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane finally admitted that Stewie Griffin is gay in an interview with Playboy.
Honestly, that's kind of like saying Tyler Perry has a thing for women's clothing. And other men.
Duh.
"We had an episode that went all the way to the script phase in which Stewie does come out,” MacFarlane, the show’s creator, says in the September issue of Playboy magazine. “It had to do with the harassment he took from other kids at school. He ends up going back in time to prevent a passage in Leviticus from being written: ‘Thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind. It is an abomination.’
"But we decided it’s better to keep it vague, which makes more sense because he’s a 1-year-old. Ultimately, Stewie will be gay or a very unhappy repressed heterosexual. It also explains why he’s so hellbent on killing [his mother, Lois] and taking over the world: He has a lot of aggression, which comes from confusion and uncertainty about his orientation."
This makes the football-shaped Family Guy favorite, who's evolved in recent seasons from a nefarious infant hellbent on world domination, perhaps the only TV diaper-pooper grappling with his own sexual identity.
Despite the fact that Family Guy is a fictional show, all the right-wing Bible thumpers will probably be up in arms about the liberal left corrupting decent folk following this animated outing. After all, why let logic stand in the way of a guest appearance on FOX News? Remember Dan Quayle and Murphy Brown? Exactly.
But after learning of this immoral, cartoon character, we just have one question: What are you doing with a copy of Playboy, hmmmm?
Boy, they're really going to flip when the truth about Papa Smurf and Brainy Smurf
is revealed. Oh, come on, it's a classic bear-cub relationship if we've ever seen one.
