Erica Diamond releases new book for women entrepreneurs

WOMAN.ca contributor and Women on the Fence blogger, Erica Diamond can now add author to her long list of roles. She recently released her book 99 Things Women Wish They Knew Before...Starting Their Own Business as part of the 99-series.

"What's cool about the series is it's a coach in a pocket," said Diamond. "Life is fast and we're all busy and we don't want a 300-page book."

The books are only 99 pages, a tip per page all following the series motto of "making the best you even better."

They cover everything from dating in your 40s, 50s and 60s, to facing life's challenges. Diamond's in particular features 99 tips to avoid pitfalls, all gleaning from her experiences as a top award-winning CEO, for women who dream of starting their own business.

Diamond got involved in the series after taking her husband to the hospital, concerned he had H1N1, and meeting the founder of the series waiting for her daughter who was getting checked for H1N1 as well. A strange coincidence that made a great partnership!

Diamond has garnered many fans of her honest and insightful blog and she approached the book with the same style.

"I say it the way it is. The blog has become a safe place for (women) to say, 'Shit! I'm not alone!'" she said. Ultimately she hopes the book will "leave these women feeling empowered, to become women of action."

In her particular book, she covers topics such as emotional side of business, tricks on getting business plans approved and how to talk with bank managers, and keeping employees motivated and clients loyal.

One chapter talks about thinking big, and starting small. She encourages women interested in starting on their own to not quit their day job immediately. You can do both and generate revenue from the new business.

Those interested in checking out Diamond's book and others, they can purchase them from http://99-series.com. Online e-reader versions are available early, Sony and the Home Shopping Network have them available. Also visit Diamond's blog for more information.

The world launch is September 27 with hard copies following shortly after that.
