Sage Advice Building Your Business, Spirit and Life

altThe path of an independent woman entrepreneur may at times be isolating, bringing a host of unforeseen challenges. Enter Tina Dezsi and Lia Bandola, along with 20 other business women, to inspire and encourage women to follow the dream in their new book The Power of Women United. The authors will officially launch the book on June 17 at McNally Robinson in Toronto, uniting more than 500 women entrepreneurs at an evening event that features business networking, an inspiring author presentation, and book signing.

A collection of 22 personal stories, the contributing authors understand how personal obstacles interfere with success, and share strategies, advice, support and encouragement for women everywhere to find strength in numbers and reciprocate support. "It's validating to see the trend of corporate collaboration grow as more women find themselves in executive leadership positions at Canadian companies," Dezsi tells me over the phone.

Mentoring is a key theme in the book and a personal touchstone for many of the contributors. Dezsi observes, “Those who’ve become successful in their careers have done so with the help of others.” A master networker, she advocates team-building at a grassroots level.  She proudly continues, “We’ve witnessed powerful transformation among women who were shy and lacked confidence and are now confident successful women because of team effort. And these same women, freely give their assistance to help others succeed because it worked for them.”

Six years ago Dezsi and Bandola co-founded the Power of Women Exchange Conference, which then evolved into the Power of Women Exchange (POWE) business networking group, and today has more than 400 members. The book “The Power of Women United” includes wisdom drawn from successfully overcoming their own business challenges, and witnessing the same from hundreds of women who supported each other at monthly POWE meetings. “The need for women to find balance among daily demands is no longer a luxury – it is a priority,” says Bandola who juggles family and business along with running POWE. “Now, more than ever, we are breaking away from society’s preconceived notions and choosing a lifestyle that meets our needs. We wrote the book as a gift to all women who are seeking guidance in their search for inner strength and courage to make their dreams a reality.”

POWE offers a platform for women in business to build and prosper by using the bottom line marketing device that women have used to grow their businesses for years before it became fashionable - Relationship Marketing. Four years in the making, Dezsi and Bandola sought out other successful business women who they knew in their heart had a story to share. Both felt compelled to gather the stories of these remarkable women so that their successes could offer guidance to women seeking answers to their deepest questions. These 22 amazing women forged their own path to success. They starred in roles they sought, and wrote their own rules. These extraordinary entrepreneurial women will teach you how to:

  • Find your true self

  • Follow your dreams with courage and confidence

  • Earn the respect you deserve

  • Build powerful relationships with like-minded women

  • Achieve the success you deserve
