Frankly, We're Surprised They Lasted As Long As They Did!

altIn the latest "duh, like we didn't see that one going" couple news, Transformer star Megan Fox and her D-list fiance Brian Austin Green (you know, that guy from the original Beverly Hills 90210) have broken their engagement.

Men of the world rejoice!  Now you have a shot at scoring a date with her.  It might seem unlikely, but if a guy who played a secondary character on a cheesy 90s prime time soap opera can do it, so can you.

According to US Weekly, a snitch leaked the news that the couple are dunzo, saying, "The relationship had run its course. They both realized the time had come to go their separate ways. It's completely amicable, and they are remaining friends." Which is just a polite way of saying that Fox had a moment of startling clarity and dumped him when she finally realized that she's a super hot blockbuster starring A-lister who's inexplicably engaged to a man who's biggest role is a character who tried to hook up with Donna Martin, America's most famous virgin.

The source adds they "are both focusing on their careers." Well, we can believe Fox is focusing on her career but Green? Uh, not so much . . .

Fox herself hinted that the romance was in trouble at the Golden Globes in January when she arrived at the kudos fete sans Green, saying "He doesn't wanna be here. He doesn't want to be my date. He's a man, he has an ego."

When pressed further, Fox explained the actor was "probably at home, making music." Who does he think he is, Axel Rose?  Green's rap album, One Stop Carnival, come out in 1996. Trust us, Bri, no one is begging for a follow-up.

The couple started dating in 2004 and announced their engagement in 2006. They also share his and hers tattoos with each others names.  Did Johnny Depp's "Winona Forever" ink teach them nothing?
