My first stop was CTV's suite since lia sophia has set up so TIFF royalty can "shop" pre- or post-interview. Canadians can only get this hugely popular collection of costume jewelery online. From delicate to bling-me-out, the pieces are well-designed and the price is definitely right.

In the adjacent Tastemaker's Lounge, I then got the rare opportunity to have Simone Otis not only take me though the wide range of offerings from JOE Fresh Beauty, but she made me up as well! After 18 years in the biz, the lovely Simone helped develop the JOE line. The products are so lightweight and on-trend, I'm now an official fan of the concealers and a certain shade of watermelon lipstick that feels like satin. Impressed.

Besides, grabbing cosmetics and the necessary accessories from JOE, here's what else the A-list walk away with:

GUATS T-shirts. Canadian-made. Totally organic and made of bamboo. So soft and sustainable ...they're UV resistant as well! Woody Harrelson, Elias Koteas and Kat Dennings all snagged these.

Ben Barnes (pictured above) star of Dorian Gray, was pretty happy about receiving the complete first and second season of MAD MEN, courtesy of AMC and in limited edition packaging, of course!

Board Games from Mattel. By the way, the new Pictionary (with interactive accessories) is really cool. BLOKUS anyone?

Dominic Cooper and Michael and Peter Spierig directors of Daybreakers scooped up the new D&G unisex fragrance.

WAR CHILD presents HEROES album.

A personal water bottle filter and a darling ceramic popcorn pot from PC Home

SEXY SPICES from Canada's own SEXY Gourmet Food Co. Fabulous natural wood packaging makes this a great gift for any host. Actress, director and producer Tonya Lee Williams thought so and picked up all seven of the varieties available.

And while they get camera-ready with the help of a stylist from Yorkville salon Chiggy's Touch, the peckish can nibble on a selection of canapes and wash it down with a fine french wine provided by Didier Restaurant.

So that's what's in, and out, of the bag. Stay tuned for TIFF fashion highlights!

About the author:

When Malcolm Gladwell talks about “connectors,” he’s talking about Sara Graham. This gal-about-town made her mark spending five years in (and out) of publishing as Editor-in-Chief of Canada’s top teen magazines Vervegirl and FUEL. During the out part she created, designed and managed all aspects of Sister Underwear – a collection that was not only embraced by the Canadian fashion network of buyers, media and the public, but enjoyed repeat orders from boutiques located in the U.S. Although no longer deep in the publishing or fashion trenches, Sara remains curious and connected via her insatiable appetite for culture and travel. Sara also continues to produce fashion shoots through Project, her brand management company.
