A Toronto Salon Creates Sartorialist-Worthy Looks

alt

Someone, Anyone... Please Do  My Hair!

We've all been there. You're excited about an event, until the question of hair and makeup arises. The last thing you want to do (again) is arrive with a failed attempt at "this summer's hottest makeup trend," paired with boring, pulled back hair.

One such scenario presented itself last week. Famed fashion blogger Scott Schuman of The Sartorialist was to host an evening at Holt Renfrew. Gaaah!

A quick look in the mirror and I decided it was time to seriously step up my game. One phone call and I was off to New York by way of  Do My Hair

The luxe blowdry and makeup bar just set up shop in the upper east side of Toronto, and all of the staff are expertly trained in hairstyling and makeup by Wink Makeup Studio & Academy.

I instantly relaxed when the salon's owner, Deb McGrath (pictured left), greeted and advised me on the three organic hair care collections that DMH uses. To my delight, they had the entire MoroccanOil range! So we decided to treat my sundried hair to MO's signature argan oil... The results were beyond fabulous.

[ MoroccanOil is a name you might recognize from just about every magazine on the stands this summer. A hair  and scalp treatment presently being used by stars like Salma Hayek and Lindsey Lohan, this organic miracle worker immediately transforms lackluster locks.]

And I shouldn't skip over the relaxing head and hand massage that Stephanie (hair and makeup pro) gave me during the treatment. Like icing on a cake.

Completely chilled out, Stephanie then swiftly dried and had my hair perfectly straight in minutes. Before I knew it, I was in the makeup chair getting the smokey eye/nude lip look, which is in fact this summer's hottest makeup trend. Cake eaten!

All done, my completely rejuvenated self walked out of DMH and into Holt Renfrew that evening feeling like a million bucks.

Can they create coomplicating styles or are they the usual 'they gave the best blow dry' regular salon? I'm looking for a salon that can create retro updos and styles such as the marcel wave etc...

The UGG® Bailey Button is the next shining star in the extremely popular Classic line of boots. This traditional style has been updated with its wooden UGG® logo button and elastic band closure. For a bit of variety, try wearing this boot cuffed down or pulled up over a pair of skinny jeans. Any way you’ll wear it, the Bailey Button is guaranteed to keep you in fashionable comfort all day!

The Parque pairs fashion with functionality for the littlest of feet. Decorative flower overlays embellish the suede upper and the molded rubber outsole provides superior traction. The genuine sheepskin sockliner gives your little one the comfort that you’d expect from UGG®.http://www.llikeonline.com
UGG Boots are made of materials that cushion and support your feet. You will feel less like you are wearing clunky boots and more like you are wearing soft slippers when you put your feet into UGG Boots.
